So, I thought that the reindeer with his tongue lolling out in Frozen was just a treating-reindeer-as-if-it-were-a-dog thing.  Apparently, it is a real thing.  Also, Reindeer Jousting.

hootbird:

a bit of a guide to reindeer noses. for some reason, i’ve seen a lot of people default reindeer to just regular ol deer.. particularly of the white tail variety. but i’m always like… errr… that’s not a reindeer at all!
of course if it’s a cartoon animal, the way it looks is subjective and personally it doesn’t matter to me if a person wants their “reindeer” to look like another type of deer, but when i make characters, i really like to try to make it correlate to the way the real animal looks, even when I make it into a cartoon.
hope this is helpful to some! honestly the best thing to keep in mind is that they just look like long faced dog cows lol or stockier deer.
